We met and fell in love in a little town called Aspen and have used every opportunity we got to travel the world together; Puerto Rico, France, Egypt, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, Martinique, El Salvador...
For our honeymoon in 2016, we decided to finally learn how to surf, we ended up in Costa Rica for a week and literally became obsessed. We fell in love! From that moment we decided that together we will get better and that our travels
would revolve around one thing: SURFING.
Our adventures brought us to Panama where we stumbled on the little surf town of Playa Venao and it just clicked, “this place is amazing”! As beginners, we found everything we needed to learn and more. We quickly realized that this place was the perfect spot for all levels, from total beginners to advanced. Our progression was instantaneous, we soaked in the surf lifestyle and met some amazing people that would impact our lives forever.
A little bit too comfortable in our routine in Aspen and thirsty to learn and get better at surfing, we decided that we were going to make this part of our lives. We instantly thought that we needed to share this experience with anyone looking to fall in love with surfing and Ride the Wave was born.

AKA CAPU - FRENCH | 34
@capusedan
I moved to Aspen in 2014 for a one year internship after finishing my Masters Degree in Graphic Design and travelling around Australia in a van with my best friend.
Originally from the French Alps, but I always had a preference for the ocean & warm weather.
In 2009, I spent my first summer living in the south west of France and was surrounded by “surfers”. That was the start of my love for the surfing world but at that time, there was no room for beginners, if you were not born surfing you were never going to be a surfer!
Before I moved to the US I spent all my summers at the beach, watching the waves & dreaming of the day I would be able to learn.
Meeting Lawrence changed my life, of course by moving permanently to the US and getting married but also and mainly because we decided to surf together. I was able to learn in a worry free environment with no judgement from others and made my dream come true. As expected I became addicted! Not only to the feeling of riding but everything around the sport: the effect on your body, your mind, the community, the lifestyle… I knew that it would have to be part of my life, our lives.

AKA LOLO - Swiss/Venezuelan | 35
@lboogie305
I was born in Colombia to a Swiss Dad and a Venezuelan Mom. My brother and I were raised in Puerto Rico and around the world (9 countries 5 continents) as my Dad opened one luxury hotel after another. Naturally I followed in my Dad’s footsteps and went to study Hotel Management in Lausanne Switzerland for 4 years. During this time I was exposed to snowboarding and it’s summer counterpart wakeboarding and spent all my free time doing one or the other depending on the season. I just always felt comfortable on a board and couldn’t get enough!
After University I landed an opportunity to move to Colorado working for a luxury hotel which eventually led me to a little town in the Rockies called Aspen. I fell in love with the outdoors and used every chance I had to be outside (fly fishing, hiking, wake surfing and snowboarding).
Capu always had the dream of learning how to surf, and I always loved board sports, so we decided to make it our goal for our Honey Moon, learn to surf together. And since then, we haven’t been able to stop! This is our “thing”, we are getting better together, always sharing feedback and helping each other grow in our surfing journey.
